Info for Pregnant Ladies

I've heard some local ladies aren't aware of some free (some others aren't) resources for parents-to-be in Lexington, so I thought I would pass along the information here. See below.

Classes at Central Baptist Hospital - We're delivering at Central Baptist so these are the classes applicable to us. I guess you can go even if you aren't delivering there though!

Most are free, except for Pediatric CPR. We have that this weekend so I'll let you know how that goes. We are skipping the Great Expectations orientation, and probably now the Comfort Measures because we're going to the class our Ob/Gyn provides through his office. You might check with you Ob/Gyn to see if they recommend someone. Another mom also recommended an actual class on breastfeeding ahead of time would be helpful, rather than just reading books.

Classes at St. Joe East's new Women's Hospital - The classes at St. Joe East aren't free, but also aren't one time sessions either. I haven't heard anything about them so I'm just passing on information. The childbirth classes they offer sound similar to what we're taking through our doctor - 3 sessions, Lamaze techniques and education, etc.

Well good luck to parents-to-be! Hope the classes, should you choose to visit them, are helpful. If you take any of these, come back and let us know how it goes too!
